Software Products help to manage various purposes in a Company. These every software product has some specific terms and conditions that need to be agree before using them.

Today there are many types of software licenses according to the terms & conditions, Cost and restrictions. So we need to understand all these things before using them.

When we installing a software application, display some terms and conditions we should be agree before using the software. This is a contract between the user and the software product owners.

What is a Software License?

Software license is a legally binding contract between the software product owner and the user or the organization that the software product uses. This is designed to protect the intellectual property and establish rules and regulations and guidelines for both user and the owner to say how to use the application, about usage costs, about copyright laws etc.

Simply, Copyright means right to copy. This refers to the legal right of the owner’s intellectual property. And this protects the owner’s original materials from unauthorized use.

Ownership vs Licensing

Ownership — When we purchase a software legally, it doesn’t mean you owned the software. You don’t owned the software. Only thing you have is license to use the software legally. When we purchasing a software they gives a copy of the original software. Ownership belongs only to the developer not for us.

Licensing — Software license allows us to use a software legally. When we purchase a software legally we get all rights to use the software.

Why we license softwares?

Software developers create softwares to demonstrate a new idea, to get financial and economic benefits to people in the industry. Developers use a licensing agreement with some terms and conditions.
