13. Mountain Troll

G and I have been getting on each others nerves today. Always triggered by something silly — the difference in how we each like to approach a puzzle for example— and we usually make up within a few minutes, by shoving ourselves into a forceful hug.

I think this is quite a normal thing to happen when you are together 24/7 for four, five days, and we more often than not have a great time hanging out.
A tiny part of me is nevertheless relieved that he will be going to work again tomorrow. But I’ll still miss him in the morning, and will be excited when he returns in the evening. He has to wake up really early, so I’ll make him a breakfast and packed lunch after I’ve finished writing this blog.

Living together with your lover.. gives your relationship the we-are-a-bit-like-family-now-dimension. Suddenly you are there for the off days, the crabby mornings, the duvet days, and a lot more farts. It is lovely to come home to your someone, or to have a holiday/staycation together — and quarantine is all that, on steroids. We have had some amazing in-house dates, such as stargazing in the garden, been for great walks, and had fun playing video- or board games together.

The downside is that when G is home with nothing to do, he plays games all day and night. We share a room, so if he stays up to game, I don’t sleep either. To not get annoyed about this again, I decided to join him this week. I played some old games and watched Drag Race until the wee hours. It actually worked pretty well. Until today, when I woke as an exhausted, puffy mountain troll.
