Success

What is the meaning of success? How do we measure success? Is it worth living a life without success?

Those are questions I ask every time I see my friends, former and present ones, with their successful lives. Like for example, you come across their photos and videos in social medias, telling the adventures and reached milestones in their lives, that you can’t help but feel envious and lonely. Knowing that, you too, want to have that organized life, that fun life they have.

But aren’t the posts in social medias a bit exaggerated? You can think of it as a façade that they need to share their reached milestone in life. Like for example, you didn’t see the process which it took to complete that stage in their life. They surely shed tears and sweat in order to complete that. Meaning, you only see the end product.

Instead of being envious, be more persistent in chasing your dreams or goals, since it all comes down on how persistent a person can be to reach their desired goal.

Instead of being envious of others life, be more active in pursing your own dreams and goals. You’ll be sure that you can be “successful” too if you don’t give up. But there are factors like, mental health, financial difficulties and family problems that will hinder a person in pursuing their dreams. All I can say is, everything has its time. I’m not going to sugar coat this, because I, also went through that. Those are a person’s worse enemies. All I can say is that everything has its time.

To answer my questions above, we don’t really know how to measure success. I can only give my own opinion that every person has their own view on how to measure success, so don’t compare yourself with others because maybe in their eyes, you are successful. And yes, it is worth living a life without success because only you have the ability to measure your own success with your own understanding. The meaning of success is, how you define and understand your own success.
